Dr. Ahmed Jad is the founder of Revive Bariatric Health, a highly accomplished bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon recognized for advancing surgical innovation in Atlantic Canada.
Dr. Ahmed Jad is a General and Bariatric Surgeon based in Truro, Nova Scotia. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Dalhousie University, followed by advanced fellowship training in Bariatric Surgery at Laval University. A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM), Dr. Jad brings a unique combination of surgical expertise and comprehensive obesity care to his patients.
He practices at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, where he leads the bariatric program, and serves as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Dalhousie University. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Jad founded the “Obesity-Friendly Hospital” program, an initiative designed to enhance accessibility and improve the care experience for individuals living with obesity.
A strong advocate for innovation, Dr. Jad is pioneering endobariatric procedures such as endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), transoral outlet reduction (TORe) and swallowable gastric balloons, expanding access to minimally invasive treatment options in Atlantic Canada. His vision combines patient-centered care, evidence-based research, and system-level transformation to deliver lasting and meaningful outcomes for patients.
